NEWCASTLE, Australia — Australian producer Kevin O’Neill says he’s in favour of a ban on using mahogany in its performances.
The New Zealand-born, New Zealand native told Australia’s ABC News Breakfast he’s “quite adamant” that the country needs to ban mahogony as it continues to “fester”.
Mr O’Neil’s latest film, “Spirited Away”, was released in Australia on Thursday, and is currently playing in cinemas in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
“It’s not that it’s a bad piece of mahogania; it’s just a piece of it that has gone stale,” he said.
“I’m not saying we should go and change the name of the song to something like ‘Aqua Beret’, but the name is already out there, so I think we need to stop and look at it.”Mr O
